The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced an increase in the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for the month of September. These new prices will come into effect starting at 6:00 p.m. today.
The cost of a 12 kg LPG cylinder has been raised by Tk 144, resulting in a new price of Tk 1,284. BERC Chairman Nurul Amin made this announcement during a conference held at the BERC hall on Sunday afternoon.
Under the revised pricing, the rate for each kilogram of LP gas is now Tk 107.01, and a 12 kg cylinder will cost Tk 1,284. Additionally, the price for autogas per liter has been set at Tk 58.87.
For reference, in August, a 12 kg LPG cylinder was priced at Tk 1,140, and auto gas was sold at Tk 52.17 per liter. The lowest rate in July was Tk 46.49 per liter for autogas, while a 12 kg cylinder was priced at Tk 999.
During the announcement, members of the commission, including Muhammad Yamin Chowdhury, Dr. Md. Helal Uddin, Abul Khair, Aminur Rahman, and BERC Secretary Barrister Md. Khalilur Rahman Khan, were present.
