TCB to Buy 1Cr 45 Lakh Liters Of Soybean And Rice Bran Oil

The government will buy 1 crore 45 lakh liters of soybean oil and rice bran oil for the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB). The proposal of the Ministry of Commerce to buy this lot of oil through open tender in the current financial year will be presented to the cabinet committee on government procurement for approval. The two proposals will cost the government 231 crore 59 lakh taka.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will preside over the procurement-related ministerial meeting on Wednesday (September 20). The two proposals signed by Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, said that 50 million liters of soybean oil Majumdar Products Ltd. TCB will supply. It will cost 79 crore 50 lakh taka.

And buying 15 lakh liters of rice bran oil will cost 23 crore 85 lakh taka. MRT Agro Products Ltd. will supply the oil to TCB. A liter of two PET bottles will cost 159 Tk.

Besides, City Edible Oil Limited will supply 8 million liters of soybean oil to TCB. The proposal will cost TCB 128 crore 24 lakhs. The price of two pet bottles will be 160.30 taka.
