The cost of gold has seen a consecutive decrease in the local market of the country. Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) has reduced gold prices by Tk 1,167 per bhori (equal to 11.664 grams), resulting in a price of Tk 97,044 for high-quality (22-carat) gold ornaments.

The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has also decided to lower the price of acid gold (seasoned gold) in the local market, effective from Today (Thursday, 5 October).

In the past four days, starting from September 30, the country's gold market witnessed a second price reduction. During this adjustment, the cost of fine quality (22-carat) gold decreased by 1,749 taka, bringing it down to 98,211 taka.

On September 27, BAJUS introduced a new gold pricing structure, reducing the previous record high of Tk 1,01,244 to Tk 1,284. Consequently, the price of premium-quality (22-carat) gold stood at 99,960 taka per bari (11.664 grams).

Back on August 24, BAJUS raised the gold price in the country by 2,216 taka due to the surge in global gold prices. This hike pushed the price of 22-carat gold per bari (11.664 grams) to a record-breaking 1 lakh 1 thousand 244 taka.
