Price Of Sugar Increased By 20 Taka Per Kg

The maximum retail price (MRP) of sugar from government mills has been increased to 20 Taka. Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) has set a price of 160 Taka per kg by raising the price by 20 Taka per kg.

This information has been found in an announcement sent to the media by the corporation on Thursday (February 22). It is stated that this rate has been fixed in coordination with the international market.

The new price of sugar per kg at the mill gate and corporate super shop has been set at 155 Taka, and the maximum selling price has been set at 160 Taka in various super shops and markets.

In addition, the mill gate price of 50 kg of sugar has been fixed at 150 Taka (1 kg). The dealer's selling price has been fixed at 157 Taka. This price of sugar will be effective immediately.

Before that, the corporation had set the price of sugar per kg at 140 Taka.

The government has been asked for cooperation to control the sugar market on the occasion of fasting. Because some companies are selling sugar at a high price under the name of government sugar.
