TCB To Procure 11M Litres Of Soybean Oil, 10,000 Tonnes Lentil

The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has been authorized to obtain 11.0 million liters of edible oil and 10,000 metric tons of lentils for sale through its open market sale (OMS) program.

In a meeting on Thursday led by Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali, the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) approved two separate proposals in this regard. These proposals were presented by the Commerce Ministry on behalf of TCB, as reported by UNB.

As per the proposals, TCB will import 11.0 million liters of soybean oil through an open tender from City Edible Oil Ltd. The total cost will be Tk 1.74 billion (174.66 crore) with each liter priced at Tk 165.25.

TCB will also obtain 8,000 metric tons of lentils at a cost of Tk 0.83 (83.12 crore) from Nabi Naba Food Limited, with each kg costing Tk 103.09.
