New Decision On Rise Of Edible Oil Price

The price of bottled soybean oil has increased by Tk 4 per liter, while the price of loose soybean oil has been reduced by Tk 2 per liter.

Commerce Minister Ahasanul Islam Titu disclosed this at a press conference at the Secretariat on Thursday (April 18).

Before this, the mill owners announced a Tk 10 increase in the price of soybean oil per liter. The Commerce Secretary wrote letters to the companies announcing the effective date of the new prices on Tuesday,

Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association. On that day, Commerce Minister Ahasanul Islam Titu had informed that there was no opportunity for the price hike in soybean oil.

Before the Ramadan, on March 1, when the price of 1 liter of bottled soybean oil was reduced by Tk 10 to Tk 163, the price of 5 liters of bottled soybean oil was determined at Tk 800.
