Gold Prices Further Slashed Within A Day

Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has again reduced the price of gold within 24 hours of price reduction. The price of gold bhori of 22-carat has been cut by Tk 2,100 and fixed at Tk 114,190. BAJUS said in a notification on Wednesday (April 24) that the new price will be effective from 4:30 pm today.

The notification states that the price of acid gold (pure gold) has decreased in the local market. As a result, the new price of gold has been fixed considering the overall situation.

Earlier, after two days of increasing the price, BAJUS reduced the price by Tk 3,138 per bhori on Tuesday and fixed the price of 22-carat gold at Tk 116,290 per bhori.

Before that on April 21, BAJUS had increased the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 630 in a span of one day on April 21 and fixed at Tk 119,428. Apart from this, 21-carat gold was fixed at Tk 114,004 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk 97,709 per bhori, and traditional method gold was fixed at Tk 78,662 per bhori. These were effective from 3:30 pm that day.

On April 20, BAJUS reduced the best quality 22-carat gold by Tk 840 and fixed at Tk 118,798 per bhori. Besides, 21-carat gold was fixed at Tk 113,397 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk 97,196 per bhori, and traditional method gold was fixed at Tk 78,242 per bhori. These were effective from 3:30 pm that day.

BAJUS adjusted gold price 11 times this year. And in 2023, the price was adjusted 29 times.
