INDICAFE Global and Oikko Foundation to Create New Entrepreneurs

INDICAFE Global and Oikko Foundation have undertaken a new entrepreneurship program at 87 thousand 191 villages in Bangladesh.

New entrepreneurs can participate in this program for only 50 thousand taka.

The announcement was made through a press conference at the 'Taroka Kothon' event held at the ‘Channel i’ office in Tejgaon on Thursday, October 6 at noon.

Successful entrepreneur Abdul Aziz, managing director of INDICAFE Global Tea & Coffee Bd., who was present at the event, said, "We expressed our determination to start working together with Oikko Foundation a year ago with the aim of creating new entrepreneurs. A package has been prepared for entrepreneurs for only 50 thousand taka. Where entrepreneurs will get a digital instant coffee machine, 1000 cups of raw materials, special training, and basic training. Also, the new entrepreneurs will be informed on how to start the business along with the technical guidance of the machine. "

He also said that we will also select 64 entrepreneurs from 64 districts of the country and give coffee machines on easy terms. They will be our district representatives. Also, a committee will be formed with two entrepreneurs at the Upazila level, which will be called the district committee.

In February last year, an episode of ‘Sofolota O Sofol Uddokta (Success and Successful Entrepreneur)’ with INDICAFE Global entrepreneur Abdul Aziz was aired on ‘Channel i’ which received a huge response across Bangladesh.

There, entrepreneur Abdul Aziz said that he will work to create new entrepreneurs by selling his coffee machine, tea, malai tea, masala tea, and instant tea. Any young person can become a successful entrepreneur with very little capital.

Director General of the Department of Youth Development Md Azharul Islam said that it is very necessary to use youth power for the development of the country. One-third of our country is youth. We create entrepreneurship through training. Entrepreneurs after training focus on their own establishment instead of looking for a job. So far we have trained 66 lakh youth and young women. Among them, 23 lakhs have been trained and become self-employed. They are producing and marketing the products themselves. Also, 8 to 10 employees are working in each of their establishments.

Media, CMSME, and industry development worker Apu Mahfuz said at the event that the announcement of recognition of the new SME entrepreneurship program in 87 thousand 191 villages of the country is an achievement and motivation for him.

Bangladesh Industry and Technical Assistance Center (BITAC) Director General Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, 'Channel i' Senior General Manager (Programme) Amirul Islam, and senior officials of Oikko Foundation were also present at the event.
