Unilever Bangladesh And IBA Signs MoU

Unilever Bangladesh Limited and Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of a collaboration focusing largely on sustainable development, an area where Unilever is a global pioneer.

This MoU aims at partnering with academia for research, ideation, and innovation. 

The Unilever Sustainable Living Plan is acting as a whole, aiming at three specific goals i.e. improving health and well-being; reducing the environmental impact by half and enhancing livelihoods of millions.

The Unilever Sustainable Living Plan sets out to decouple our growth from our environmental footprint while increasing our positive social impact.

This collaboration will create opportunities for students and faculties of IBA to work on live projects contributing to various SDGs, giving them exposure to many global and brand-led sustainability initiatives that Unilever is driving across the 3 pillars for the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan.

Unilever Bangladesh has been the ‘Employer of Choice’ among graduating students across the nation for 8 consecutive years because of its numerous interventions for the development of students, and the culture and opportunities that pertain to the organization.

Unilever strives to maintain its relationship with academia in various ways ranging from its organized campus interventions (Sparks Campus Ambassador program, Unilever Leadership Internship Program, BizMaestros, Unilever Future Leaders Program, etc. to conduct classes as guest lecturers and mentoring students. 

Over the years, the Institute of Business Administration has been a source of some of the best talents in Unilever Bangladesh.

The collaboration between the two parties will contribute to the development of the future the talent of Bangladesh.

While Unilever Bangladesh will benefit from the fresh outside-in perspective, research expertise of the students and faculty alike, in the process, the students of the institute will also get the opportunity to interact with global and local Unilever leaders who have transformed markets and businesses across the world and learn from them. 

The MoU was signed by Sakshi Handa, Human Resources Director of Unilever Bangladesh and Professor Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar, Director of IBA, on behalf of the parties, and graced by the presence of Tanzeen Ferdous Alam, Homecare and Food & Refreshment Director of Unilever Bangladesh, Dr. Md. Mohiuddin, Professor & Coordinator, MBA Program of IBA and other respected members of IBA faculties and Unilever Bangladesh Limited.

Sakshi Handa, Human Resources Director of Unilever Bangladesh Limited, stated that this partnership is in alignment with the global employer brand proposition of Unilever to create a ‘better business, a better world and a better you’ as it ensures that Unilever is able to develop the future talent of this nation by offering them with exposure, skills, and knowledge through real experiences in the arena of sustainability, an increasingly critical factor in business worldwide.
