Special Incentive for Bank Employees during Shutdown

The central bank today asked the banks to provide incentives to their employees who operate during the ongoing closure announced by the government to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Bankers will be paid a month's minimum payment if they work for at least 10 days during the current shutdown, according to a central bank notification sent to all lenders.

Contractual staff of banks will get 65 percent of their salaries as a special incentive.

The special incentive will range between a total of Tk 30,000 to a maximum of Tk 100,000 every month during shutdown.

Bankers should be considered as a special incentive from the day of the government's announcement of closure.
