City Bank Executive Is 1st Banker to Die Of COVID-19 in Bangladesh

The City Bank's senior executive died of COVID-19-the the first reported fatality caused by coronavirus among Bangladeshi bankers.

He died at the Mugda General Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday morning, one of his colleagues said.

Assistant Professor Mahbubur Rahman, a member of the COVID-19 team at the hospital, reported that the banker had tested positive for respiratory disease.

The 40-year-old was the first Vice President of the Human Resources Department of the Department. He left behind his wife and his daughter.

He was buried in Khilgaon-Taltola Graveyard in the capital under the control of the hospital authorities, the colleague said.

A number of bank officials have developed coronavirus, while banks work for a short amount of time in the wake of a national closure on the epidemic.

City Bank officials claimed the man had been suffering from frost, cough, and fever for many days and had his coronavirus samples checked twice, but the results were negative.

He was seeking treatment at home but was admitted after his health deteriorated on Saturday morning, and he was diagnosed with coronavirus by a third examination, according to authorities.

The family have been asked to go into home quarantine.

City Bank in a statement mourned the official and offered condolences to the family.
