PDB to Buy Power from Saudi Company-Led Joint Venture

The cabinet committee on government procurement approved a request to acquire electricity from the envisioned 300 Megawatt Solar Power Plant at Rampal in Begarhat for Tk 11.067 per unit at a meeting on Wednesday.

A joint venture between the Midland East Power Ltd., Comfit Composite Knit Ltd., and ACWA Power Company of Saudi Arabia to construct the power plant.

Bangladesh Power Development Board would purchase energy from the power plant for 20 years, according to Sayeed Mahbub Khan, a second secretary of the cabinet division, in an online briefing.

AHM Mustafa Kamal, the finance minister, essentially presided over the gathering.
