Country Receives $1,599Mn Remittance in August

Expats from Bangladesh sent approximately $1,599.45 million in remittances during August in the fiscal year 2023-24, according to data from the Bangladesh Bank.

State-owned banks received $183.19 million, while 43 private sector banks received $1,376.02 million in remittances.

The highest remittance, totaling $340.17 million, was channeled through Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd.

In the previous month, expatriate Bangladeshis had sent remittances amounting to approximately $197.30 crore (equivalent to approximately Tk 21,407 crore), marking the first month of the current fiscal year 2023-24.
