All types of bank transactions will be closed tomorrow Sunday (December 31). Due to this the stock market will not be traded. However, the main offices and important branches of all banks including banks will remain open to reconcile their financial accounts.

It is known that on December 31, the banks complete the financial accounts for a particular year. On this day, the annual financial report is prepared by combining the accounts sent from various branches. That is why this day is considered a 'bank holiday'. Even if the bank is open on that day, no transaction is done. But at this time customers can withdraw money within the limit through the card.

As per policy, no transactions or office activities are conducted with Bangladesh Bank or other bank customers during 'Bank Holiday'.

Stock market shares are traded through banks. If the bank is closed, the two stock markets of the country, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE), do not have any transactions. However, even if the stock market trading is closed on Sunday, the office activities will continue, said the official.
