Govt to Recruit More 26,000 Primary Teachers in February

The government will recruit more than 26,000 primary school teachers In February two months after last December appointing more than 18,000 teachers. 

Minister of State for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain announced the matter at a program at the Kurigram Primary Teachers Training Institute (PTI) on Thursday (Jan 30).

Hossain said, “The Cabinet cleared the Mid-day Meal policy, which will be launched in ‘Mujib Year’ at all primary schools across the country."

The government wants to open more [primary] schools at "remote chars and haors areas,” he added.

“We are trying to appoint local teachers at these new schools,” said Hossain, who is a lawmaker from Kurigram-4 constituency.
