Govt Abolishing Age Limit in Polytechnic Admission

The government has decided to lift the limitation on age limit for certificate course confirmation at polytechnic instituteds, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said Wednesday. 

She made the disclosure at a virtual gathering on the advancement of technical education. 

"The decision was taken to increase the pace of enrollment in technical education and to give institutional acknowledgment to the skilled workers coming back from abroad," Dipu Moni said. 

She referenced that the government is paying extreme importance to technical education in a bid to tackle the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and implement Vision-2041 announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. 

The decision will enable individuals to have specialized abilities yet need institutional acknowledgment. Because of the decision, he or she can get admitted to the desired diploma courses, she added. 

Simultaneously, the base capability of male understudies for admission to recognition courses has been diminished from GPA 3.5 to 2.5 and GPA 3 of female understudies is decreased to 2.25. 

In addition, the confirmation expense of certificate courses was chopped down from Tk 1,825 to Tk 1090. 

Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, among others, spoke at the meeting while Munshi Shahabuddin, Secretary to Technical and Madrasah Education Division, was in the chair.
