British Council Resumes IELTS Test

After a brief pause to endorse and comply with the government directives and to help reduce the spread of Covid-19, the British Council resumed the introduction of IELTS and IELTS on paper.

Stating how the British Council maintains safety measures at its test centers, Zunayed Ahmed Director Operations Examinations said, with the resumption, that they maintain the safety and hygiene measures recommended by their global standards and the Bangladesh government guidelines, reports UNB.

"Our test-takers are communicated beforehand regarding the precaution they need to maintain, such as signing a document confirming health issues, wearing a mask that covers mouth and nose and the temperature checking mechanisms that are available in the centres”.

He also stressed that the entire center, including furniture, appliances, stationery, etc., was meticulously sanitized in all centers prior to each test and that all its personnel and examiners wear protective gear during the test.

During the interim time when the test was cancelled, test-takers were still able to access free online content, video preparation and tools on tips on IELTS critical skills, practice exercises, dos and don'ts and expert guidance on the four parts of IELTS that could be accessed from home to prepare for the exercises.

Extended assistance was also given for free transfer and deferral.

After they book IELTS with the British Council, test takers can still access exclusive planning materials and the above benefits.

As venue capacity will decrease due to an additional layer of physical distance steps, IELTS tests with more test dates per month will be provided by the British Council to fulfill the requirement.

They are now resuming tests in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet and soon will be resuming in Khulna, Cumilla, and Rajshahi, phase by phase.
