Earlier on Tuesday night, police arrested Akhter from the Shahbagh Police Station area in the case.

The case statement said police on March 25 detained a man named Abul Kalam Azad from a Juba Adhikar Parishad protest procession at Motijheel in the capital against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh.

A total of 10 people, including Chhatra Adhikar Parishad acting convener Rashed Khan, joint convener Faruk Hasan, its Dhaka University unit former president Bin Yeamin Molla, current president and former DUCSU social welfare secretary Akhter Hossain, were named in the lawsuit.
