Varsity Classes to Resume from May 24

The council of university vice-chancellors has upheld the decision to open the residential halls of the public universities on May 17 and start classroom activities from May 24.

The decision was taken at a virtual meeting on Wednesday.

All kinds of educational institutions, including public universities, have been closed since the start of the coronavirus or Covid-19 outbreak in the country on March 17, last year.  

The academic activity in public universities is supposed to begin from May 24, although the varsities witnessed closure in several phases.

The council is discussing various internal issues of the universities and whether the closure will extend further.
