Final preparations have been made to open primary, secondary and higher education institutions in the country. As part of this, 100% of the teachers will be present in the primary schools from last Tuesday (August 24). On the other hand, regional directors have been instructed by the Directorate of Secondary & Higher Education to keep the secondary and higher secondary schools open. At the same time, instructions have been given to keep the educational institutions clean and tidy by taking utmost care to prevent dengue.

When asked, Director-General of the Directorate of Primary Education Alamgir Muhammad Mansurul Alam said, "All teachers have been instructed to be present in the school." Assistant Upazila and Thana Education Officers have been directed to inspect all the schools within a week. Action will be taken against any Assistant Education Officers if they do not visit all the schools. In addition, specific instructions have been given to prevent dengue. We don't want schools to be closed. Dengue outbreaks could increase if schools are closed.

Professor Shahedul Khabir Chowdhury, Director (Administration and College) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, said, "We have instructed the regional directors to keep the educational institutions clean and tidy and ensure overall readiness to open schools." The educational institution can be fully opened as soon as it receives instructions from the higher echelons of the government. Moreover, our educational institutions are open as the teachers are continuing to give and take regular assignments.

Recently DPE DG Alamgir Muhammad Mansurul Alam paid a surprise visit to 19 schools in Dhaka. He was upset that the information provided by the education officials did not match the real picture.

On August 21, a meeting was held with the Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and field level officials. At the meeting, the director-general raised the issue and directed to make final preparations for opening the educational institution.

Instructions for final preparation in primary schools:

The instructions of the Department of Primary Education include: Assistant Upazila/Thana Education Officers have to inspect 100% of the schools within a week. One hundred percent confirmation and verification of worksheet distribution. Learning deficit status and feedback should be taken. The cleanliness of the school must be ensured. Teachers need to ensure regular school attendance. Verify home visit. See if the student profile is 100%. Determining what to do for weaker students. Going to the student's home as a sample and verifying the student contact registrar.

In addition, as part of the preparations for the opening of the educational institution, quick instructions have been given to fix the wash block of the primary school.

Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Institutions:

Directorate of Secondary & Higher Education has directed to complete the final preparations for the opening of secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions. Therefore, special instructions have been given to keep the educational institutions clean and tidy and follow the orders of the government to prevent dengue.

Earlier, students were instructed to wear masks and use soap or sanitizer in schools under the direction of the Health Directorate and two ministries when the educational institution was opened. Apart from this, there were instructions to keep every room, wash block and yard of the school clean and make all preparations.

According to the relevant sources, the two ministries had already made preparations to open the educational institution in compliance with the health rules. However, after the closure of several educational institutions, overall preparations are being made to reopen them. Recently, when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed to open the educational institutions quickly, an initiative was taken to clean the educational institutions anew.
