KUET Closure Extended Till Dec 23

The closure of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology has been extended till December 23, a spokesperson of the university’s Public Relations and Information Department said on Monday.

The decision was taken at a virtual meeting of KUET syndicate on Sunday night, according to the spokesperson.

Earlier on December 3, authorities at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) announced the university closed till December 13 and asked students to vacate halls by 4:00pm the same day.

The shutdown came after Professor Md Selim Hossain, a teacher at the university’s Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) department, was found dead inside the campus on November 30.

Authorities also suspended nine students on charges of violating rules and regulations and formed a five-member probe committee on December 3 over the unnatural death of Professor Dr Md Selim Hossain.
