All primary schools in the country will resume in-person classes from Wednesday (March 2).

Classes must be conducted under strict compliance with Covid-19 school health and safety protocols, and there will be no compromise in this regard.

On January 21, the government announced the closure of all schools and colleges in the country until February 6 amid a surge in Covid-19 cases.

The shutdown was later extended to February 20.

After a 17-month Covid-19-induced closure, students in Bangladesh returned to classrooms on September 12 last year.

The government had shut educational institutions on March 17, 2020, after the country reported its first Covid-19 cases on March 8. The closure was extended several times.
