IUB Launches 'Green Genius Season 3'

The Green Planet Club, an organization of Independent University, Bangladesh's (IUB) Department of Environmental Science and Management has launched ‘Green Genius Season-3’ with the aim of involving the youth in the environmental protection movement.

Today, Sunday (March 13), the annual competition was organized at the IUB Multipurpose Hall Club in Bashundhara, Dhaka.

The event will end on March 27 with the distribution of prizes to the winners. The main goal of ‘Green Genius’ is to create future leadership in environmental protection by making school, college, and university students aware of nature and the environment.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Pro-VC) of IUB Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan was present as the special guest. The head of the Department of Environmental Science and Management Ayaz Rabbani, the Deans of various schools of IUB, senior teachers and administrative officers, and students were also present. 

The Green Planet Club, part of IUB's Department of Environmental Science and Management, started its journey in 2014. At present, the club has about 500 general members, 50 active members and an executive body of 11 members.

In addition to students of the Department of Environmental Science and Management, students from other departments of IUB can also become members of the Green Planet Club.
