Dr. Dipu Moni said that the JSC-JDC examinations of the eighth grade are not being
held this year.
She said this in response to a question while announcing the results of the recommendation for selection of vacant posts through NTRCA in private educational institutions at the Secretariat on Sunday (June 5) morning.
Responding to a question from reporters, the education minister said the implementation of the new curriculum in class VIII will start in 2024. There is no JSC examination in the new curriculum. So there is no reason to take the JSC exam next year (in 2023).
She said that this time also the certificate for JSC-JDC will be given after evaluation at the institution level.
The government started taking the test in 2010 at the end of the eighth grade, increasing the pressure on students to take the test, which was criticized. However, due to the coronavirus epidemic, the students have been evaluated without taking this test for the last two years.
On the other hand, the government is going to start implementing new curricula step by step in 2023. The course will start in first and second class of primary and sixth and seventh classes of secondary. This curriculum will start in 2024 in the 3rd, 4th, 8th, and 9th class and in 2025 in 5th and 10th class. The new curriculum will be fully implemented within this period.
