VC Becomes Dean For The First Time At CoU

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AFM Abdul Moin has been appointed as the new Dean of the Law Faculty of Cumilla University (CoU).

On Monday (September 18), the matter was notified in an office order signed by Registrar (Acting) Md. Amirul Haque Chowdhury.

According to the office order, since there is no teacher employed in the Faculty of Law in Cumilla University, as per Section 22(6) of the Cumilla University Amendment Act-2013, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AFM Abdul Moin will be the acting Dean of the Faculty of Law from September 20. 

It is to be noted that although it is mentioned in the Cumilla University Amendment Act, the Vice-Chancellor has never been seen to take charge as the dean of any faculty of the university.

Prior to this, Dr. Md. Shamimul Islam, Professor of the Department of Economics, has been serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Law since February 24, 2021. His tenure will end on Tuesday (September 19).
