The residential area of Dhaka College adjacent to New Market Road has caused extreme suffering due to water accumulation in the capital after 113 mm of rain in six hours. More than five thousand resident students of eight hostels are stuck in water-logged state. Also, the reserve water tank has been submerged in dirty water. As a result, there is a shortage of drinking water.

Today, Friday (September 22), two playgrounds, roads and corridors of the dormitory are flooded. No one can leave the hostel for water. Those who are going out for urgent needs have to cross the dirty water to go to the main road. Besides, many students have not eaten since morning because there is not enough food supply in the shops inside the hostel.

A student of South Dormitory said, I have never seen such rain before. Water has accumulated in the field many times during the rain but such an environment has not been created. I don't see any signs of water receding. Moreover, the college pond was one of the main sources of water drainage. But yesterday's rain has overflowed the pond.

Another student said that he had to stay up all night. He said, "I was sitting on the bed with the household items. If water removal is not done quickly then we will be in great danger. There is no provision of food and drink from morning. We are passing a very bad time".
