Dental Admission Test Held Smoothly: Health Min

Health Minister Dr. Samanta Lal Sen said that the BDS (Dental) admission test was conducted very smoothly across the country this year. Nothing negative happened at any center. This was possible because the senior officials of the concerned ministries and departments were very active and alert from a month before the commencement of the examination till the day of the examination.

He said this after visiting the BDS admission test center for 2023-2024 academic year at Udayan Uchcha Madhyamik Bidyalaya on Fuller Road in the capital on Friday.

The health minister said that this year, a total of 50,795 candidates participated in the dental entry test against a total of 545 government seats and a total of 1,405 private seats. This year there are a total of 12 admission test centers and 20 venues. Currently, there are 1 Government Dental College and 8 Government Dental Units in the country. On the other hand, there are total 26 dental colleges at the private level.

Apart from this, Dr. Samanta Lal Sen spoke about the ongoing campaign to close down illegal health centers in the country, the importance of enacting the doctor's protection law, prevention of dengue outbreaks, and the importance of enforcing the tobacco law.

Secretary of Health Education and Family Welfare Department Azizur Rahman, BMDC President and National Professor Dr. Mahmud Hasan, Director General of Health Education Department Professor Titu Mia, Additional Director General (Administration) of Health Education Department Dr. Bayezid Khurshid, Additional Director General (Planning) of the Department of Health Meerjady Sabrina Flora, Health Ministry Joint Secretary Newaz Hossain Chowdhury and others were present.
