The High Court has directed to keep primary and secondary schools and madrasas closed throughout the month of Ramadan.

Today, on Sunday (March 10), the High Court issued the order.

The advertisement that was previously issued to keep schools open during Ramadan has also been suspended by the High Court.

Earlier, on February 25, lawyer Md. Elias Ali Mondal challenged the validity of the decision to keep primary and secondary schools open during Ramadan and filed a writ petition in the High Court.

The respondents in the writ petition include the Secretary of Primary and Mass Education, the Secretary of Education, the Deputy Secretary of Primary and Mass Education, the Deputy Secretary of Education, the Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE), and the Director of the Children's Welfare Trust.

The directive to keep schools closed during the month of Ramadan remains in effect until the resolution of the writ petition.
