HSC Exams Likely In June’s Last Week

This year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams may be held in the last week of June. The proposal to finalize the routine regarding this examination will be sent to the Ministry of Education soon. Convener of Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Dhaka Board Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar told the media on Wednesday (March 20).

Tapan Kumar said that this year’s HSC exam may be held in the last week of June. The proposal regarding the exam routine will be sent to the Ministry of Education this week.

Usually before the COVID period, SSC and equivalent exams started in February, and HSC exams started in April. However, due to the impact of COVID, the exam schedule got messed up. As a result, conducting the HSC examination in April for the last few years was impossible. In 2020, due to the COVID pandemic, although the SSC exam was held, students were given certificates by subject mapping without taking the HSC exam.

In 2021, SSC and HSC exams were taken following hygiene regulations by reducing to group-based 3 optional subjects and reducing the exam marks.

SSC and HSC exams were held in 2022 with a slight increase in the syllabus, although the exam time was slightly reduced that year. Besides, 2023’s SSC and HSC equivalent exams were conducted in a short syllabus.
