A strange condition has been added for recruitment to the post of Family Welfare Visitor (FWV) that finalists in the recruitment test cannot be pregnant or have children under three years of age during training. As a result, there is a fear of not being able to get pregnant among the job seekers.

The recruitment notification was issued three years ago by the Directorate General of Family Planning. Although the written examinations and viva voces were conducted, the final results have not been published yet. On Sunday (October 8), the aspirants formed a human chain in front of the Directorate General of Family Planning to demand the announcement of the results. They said about such apprehension there. Later the demonstrators gave a memorandum to the director general of the Directorate.

It is known that the Ministry of Health has formed an investigation committee on allegations of corruption and irregularities in this appointment. After receiving the report, a decision will be taken regarding the publication of the results.

Aspirants said that the Directorate of Family Planning issued a notification on April 20, 2020, for the nomination of family welfare inspector trainees. It is stipulated that finalists cannot be pregnant or have children under three years of age during the course of training. So, the married female candidates are in trouble.

Three years after the notification, the written exam was held on February 18. 7 thousand 621 people passed. The viva voce was completed on June 18. Being long-winded and expecting results only women are causing problems in their families. Due to disruption in family planning, many candidates refrain from becoming mothers.

32-year-old Selina Zaytun Iti said she can not bear a baby yet, although she wanted to. It has become difficult to sustain a family in the hope of a job. Whether it is a job or not, she demands to declare the result.

In this regard, A&RH Manjur Hossain of the Directorate of Family Planning said that this condition of appointment is a violation of the law of the World Health Organization or Human Rights Commission. All citizens of the Republic shall have equal opportunities for employment or promotion. It is not known why such a condition was given. The final result has been sent to the ministry. But the result is withheld due to investigation.
