Joy Bangla Concert Begins with National Anthem

The annual Joy Bangla Concert began this afternoon at the Bangladesh Army Stadium with the playing of the national anthem to rekindle the historic 7th March speech of Bangabandhu.

The concert started at 1.30 pm through the performance of five university-based musical bands– Introit, R Akta Rock Band, Adverb, Sin and Conclusion.

Then the popular bands F Minor, Minar Rahman, Avoid Rafa, Shunno, Vikings, Lalon and Arbovirus will perform to delight the audience in the late afternoon.

Graphical representation on Bangabandhu’s iconic March 7 speech and the great Liberation War will be screened in the evening.

Later, the leading bands of the country Cryptic Fate, Nemesis, Fuad and Friends, and Chirkut will appear on the stage to enthrall the audience with their dazzling performance.

Like the previous years, the band groups will enchant the audience by performing songs of the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra as well as their own songs.

Holographic shows on Bangabandhu will also be held.

Young Bangla, an initiative of the CRI and a leading youth network of the country, is hosting the mega event every year since 2015 to revive the spirit of the Liberation War among the young generation.

The concert will continue till 10pm. The entry gates of the venue will remain open till 4pm.

Organizers urged the viewers and guests to enter the venue (Army Stadium) as early as possible before 4pm, to avoid heavy traffic gridlock and human congestion in the entry gates due to routine security arrangements, said CRI Coordinator Tonmoy Ahmed.

As many as 46 thousand viewers registered online to enjoy the concert besides a huge number of spectators will enjoy it on television sets or online.

This year, the event gets a different dimension as the nation is going to celebrate “Mujib Borsho” (Mujib Year) from March 17 marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The viewers who received e-tickets through free online registration need to show colored and printed copies of the tickets with barcode, QR Code and photos.

They will also need to bring their ID cards used for the registration.

Smoking or drinking alcohol or other contraband products are prohibited inside the venue. The visitors can be able to get the option of re-entry if they want to get out of the venue during the concert. Large bags are also not be allowed.

No food and water from outside is allowed. Drinking water is being provided free of cost on the ground. Soft drinks and food are available at a food court.

Mobile power banks and earphones are also prohibited.
