Actor Abdul Kader Returns to Dhaka from Chennai

Prominent actor Abdul Kader, who was diagnosed with stage IV cancer, was admitted to Evercare Care Hospital in the capital on his arrival from Chennai of India on Sunday night.

The actor's daughter-in-law Zahida Islam confirmed the news to media.

Kader, well-known for playing iconic comedy characters on TV, was admitted to Chennai's Christian Medical Hospital for his treatment.

Zahida Islam said ''A flight carrying the actor reached at Dhaka airport around 6:50 pm and he was directly taken to the Evercare Care Hospital by an ambulance from there''.

The doctors of Chennai's Christian Medical Hospital were unable to give chemotherapy to him as the actor was very weak.

Earlier on December 16, Abdul Kader was diagnosed with cancer.

Abdul Kader was taken to Chennai on December 8. According to his family members, he was initially scheduled to receive treatment in Singapore, unfortunately, due to visa complications, had to be taken to Chennai.

Abdul Kader's portrayal of the character, "Bodi" in the popular television drama, "Kothao Keu Nei", has gained him immense popularity back in the 90s. He was also praised for his role on another popular show, "Nokkhotrer Raat". The actor appeared on the silver screen with several films including "Wrong Number" among others.
