Actress Eka Sent to Kashimpur Central Jail

Actress Eka, who was arrested for torturing a domestic worker, has been sent to jail by Hatirjheel Police Station in two separate cases under the Attempted Murder and Narcotics Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim passed the order on Sunday (August 1st).

On the same day, SI Faisal produced the accused in the court at Hatirjheel police station. He then applied for a remand of six days for three days in two separate cases against the accused.

On the other hand, the lawyers of the accused applied for bail seeking cancellation of remand. After hearing both the parties, the court rejected her remand and bail application and ordered to send her to jail.

Earlier on Saturday, actress Eka was arrested from her home in Ulan in the capital for torturing a domestic worker. Yaba tablets and alcohol were recovered from her house at the time, police said.

Hatirjheel Police Station Inspector (Operations) Golam Azam said a housemaid named Hajera Begum (30) was working at the house of actress Eka. He complained to the National Emergency Service (999). We first rescue the tortured domestic worker. Besides, I arrested the heroine alone and brought her to the police station.

Two cases were filed against Actress Eka at Hatirjheel police station around 9:30 pm.
