Two people gave confessional statements before a Dhaka court on Friday in a case filed over the death of film actress Raima Islam Shimu, reports media.
Shimu’s husband Shakhawat Ali Nobel and his childhood friend SM Farhad gave the statement at Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court.
Court inspector Mezbah Uddin confirmed the matter to media.
After recording his statement, the court ordered him to send them jail, he said.
On Monday morning (January 17), spotted by some locals, the 35-year old actress’s body was found in a sack near a bridge in the Keraniganj Upazila. She was identified through her fingerprint by the Police Bureau of Investigation later in the day.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members detained Nobel and his friend Farhad from the hospital on Tuesday (January 18).
A Dhaka court placed them on a 3-day remand each in the case.
Shimu used to live in the city’s Kalabagan area with her husband and two children. On Sunday morning she went out of the house and remained missing since.
A general diary was lodged at Kalabagan police station in this regard on Sunday night.
Shimu worked with many renowned film directors after making her debut in 1998.
