The
court has fixed May 23 for the hearing of the contempt of court case filed by
Zayed Khan against actress Nipun Akhter for allegedly sitting in the chair of
the general secretary of the Film Artists Association in defiance of the court
order.
The case will be heard in the regular bench of the Appellate Division on the same day.
A
full bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Hasan Foez
Siddique passed the order on Monday (April 25).
Senior advocates Ahsanul Karim and Nahid Sultana Juthi were present in the court on behalf of Zayed Khan. Barrister Rokon Uddin Mahmud was with Nipun and Barrister Mostafizur Rahman Khan was with him.
Earlier, in the March 14 order, the request was adjourned for four weeks (stand over). On the same day, the court said that during this period, anyone can regularly leave to appeal against the judgment of the High Court.
Earlier, Zayed Khan had filed a contempt of court petition against Nipun Akter. The Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division had fixed March 13 for his hearing. In its continuation, it comes up for hearing in the Appellate Division today.
Earlier
on March 8, an appeal was filed in the relevant branch of the Supreme Court
against Nipun for contempt of court.
