Mousumi Mou Louds in Presenting As Well As Acting

There is a popular saying—she who cooks also ties up her hair. Nowadays, it can be said differently-she who presents also acts stunningly well. An unrivaled example of the saying would be popular presenter-cum-actress, Mousumi Mou. On the one hand, she is a full-fledged presenter on TV and social media platforms, again, on the other hand, she also acts in full swing.  

Mou presented several Eid programs this year. In this regard, she said, "I was such busy that even I couldn't go home. On Eid day, I was the host of five shows. Among those, three were live shows and two were recorded shows. I did a total of 19 shows on television, online platforms, and radio this Eid, including a few interviews."

"This time, we got the opportunity to interview showbiz stars as well as famous people of the corporate world," she told. "One thing to add is that this time, Prothom Alo had a special event titled 'Eid Shopping for Bkash Taroka (Stars)'. I was one of the 15 stars there. It was quite joyful."

Asked about acting in drama, she said, "I have acted in two dramas this Eid. One is 'The Boss' directed by Imrul Rafat, the other is 'Betman' by Mabrur Rashid Bannah. I am satisfied working in both. My co-stars were Mosharraf Karim in 'The Boss' and Musfiq R Farhan in 'Bateman'. It was such a great experience working with them."

Mou acted in ten dramas on two Eids of last year. Of them, nine were aired. Asked why the number of dramas is less this time, Mou said, "I got a lot of offers for drama. I could do more if I want, but I don't want to do too many dramas at a time. It is better to know the reaction of the audience by doing a few works. I will keep this in mind even on the coming Eid-ul-Adha."

There is no doubt that the number of Mou's dramas is increasing which is now 17. And now, she is busy with regular presenting. She is appearing with her shows on various private television channels. Her presenting and acting jobs are going on in parallel.

If the schedule matched, Mou would have made her debut on the big screen by now. Because she got two movie offers. In this regard, she said, "at that time I was working on the reality show 'Square Surer Sera' on Maasranga Television. I got an offer to act in Masuma Tani's 'Roopkatha'. I did not work on the film because the schedule did not match. Then came the opportunity to work on Abu Sayyid's 'Songjog'. From March 21 to March 31, I was scheduled to work on 8 events. That's when the shooting date was fixed. I couldn’t skip the event work to keep the commitments. So I did not act in the movie either. However, in the future, if good characters, stories, screenplays, and schedules match, I will definitely work on the big screen."

Although not seen on the big screen, Mou has been seen on OTT platforms. She has acted in Shankha Dasgupta's 'Boli' web series where she is being received praise from the audience for this work. Mou also hints that she may be seen in another web fiction series very soon.
