Legendary Late Ayub Bachchu Inspires Dipon to Be a Guitarist

As an acoustic and lead guitarist, Sakil Mohammad Dipon is famous in the country's music industry. Dipon dreamt to be a guitarist after seeing the legendary band musician late Ayub Bachchu. And now, he is one of the finest acoustic guitarists in the country.

While talking about his own position Dipon said, “It is true that Bachchu Bhai is my inspiration in guitar playing. For him, I am a guitarist. With Allah’s blessing, I am happy with my work. Many people ask me about my academic career but I feel proud to give my identity as a guitarist. It is love and pride.”

After completing his Hons-Masters in Management from Jagannath University, Dipon completed his CA under M. Hafiz & Company. Despite being brilliant in his studies, Dipon established himself as a guitarist. Since 2000, he started playing the guitar professionally. However, in 1996, he was listed as a special-class instrumentalist of Bangladesh Television. Under the overall supervision of Dipon, there have been several programs for the elite musicians of the subcontinent, Runa Laila and Sabina Yasmin.

Dipon said that he liked playing the guitar with the late Subir Nandi the most. He misses Subir Nandi very much. Dipon felt quite comfortable playing guitar with Ustad Niaz Mohammad Chowdhury, Rafiqul Alam, Abida Sultana, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, and Sadi Mohammad. However, he works with many singers of this generation on stage or television shows. As an excellent guitarist, he stays busy throughout the year.
