Chanchal to Star in Indian Web-series ‘Ganadevta’

Noted actor Chanchal Chowdhury will be stunned his new avatar ‘Debu Pandit’ in director Kamaleswar Mukherjee's upcoming web-series, titled "Ganadevta". The series is based on renowned writer Tarasankar Bandyopadhyay's novel of the same name.

Chancal will be seen sharing the screen with Arunima Ghosh, who dons the role of 'Durga' in the series.

Speaking about the series, Kamaleswar Mukherjee shared, ‘‘Though the script is yet to be finalised, a lot of work has progressed. The plan is to start shooting by September-October. Chanchal Chowdhury will be well suited to this character. It's impossible to do this character without an actor like Chanchal Chowdhury.’’

The novel ‘‘Ganadevata’’ was published back in the 1940s, and highlighted the situation of rural Bengal during the British Raj period. 

Later, Tarasankar Bandyopadhyay also wrote ‘‘Panchagram’’, which is considered to be a part of ‘‘Ganadevta’’.
