Shakib Khan Sends Legal Notice to SMC, Seeking Compensation of Tk 4Cr

Actor Shakib Khan has sent a legal notice to SMC, the manufacturing and marketing company of food saline 'Orsaline'. The allegation against this organization is that it is promoting Shakib Khan's advertisement even after the expiration of the contract. Because of this, Shakib's lawyer, Barrister Olora Afrin, has sent this notice to SMC Managing Director Abdul Haque and General Manager (Marketing), Khandaker Shamim Rahman, seeking compensation of Tk 4 crore.

A compensation of Tk 4 crore has been claimed considering the financial loss, reputational loss, and inconvenience caused to hero Shakib Khan by campaigning for these unauthorized advertisements, the notice said. The institution has been given seven days. Legal action will be taken if the compensation is not paid, said the lawyer.

This lawyer told the media, "The advertising contract of hero Shakib Khan with SMC has expired in December 2022." After that, the advertisement was displayed for about 5 months without renewing the contract. We have a screenshot of that. Shakib Khan has suffered a financial loss of Tk 4 crore.

In March 2019, Shakib Khan started working as the brand ambassador for SMC Orsaline-N. His contract with the company was until June 30, 2022. As part of that, Shakib Khan worked on an advertisement for SMC Orsaline in 2021. The ad has been continuously aired on a private TV channel this year despite the expiration of the contract.
