'Miles' Shafin Lodges Case For Using Songs Without Permission

Shafin Ahmed, the well-known vocalist from the rock band 'Miles' and a prominent Bangladeshi rock bassist, singer-songwriter, and record producer has filed a case against two people on the allegations of promoting hundreds of songs without permission.

Shafin Ahmed filed this case in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md. Asaduzzaman. Summons have been issued for the accused to appear on November 5. 

The individuals facing these allegations are MD Ashikun Nabi and Director Ashifun Nabi of Kinetic Networks Limited.

Additional Public Prosecutor Tapas Kumar Pal of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court has confirmed this development. According to him, "Singer Shafin has filed a case under Section 71/82/91 of the Copyright Act related to the unauthorized promotion of songs."

The complaint in the case asserts that the accused individuals have violated the law by promoting numerous songs performed by Shafin Ahmed on various social media platforms, including YouTube, Amazon, iTunes, and Apple Music, without obtaining the necessary permissions.
