Chaos, Altercation Break Out In Celebrity Cricket League

The 'Celebrity Cricket League,' featuring stars from Bangladesh's entertainment industry, is currently in progress, with the goal of boosting the morale of the Bangladesh cricket team ahead of the upcoming World Cup. However, what was intended to be a friendly match took an unexpected turn during a group game involving filmmakers Mostafa Kamal Raz and Dipankar Dipon.

As tensions escalated on the field, the match was momentarily stopped. Despite attempts to restore normalcy, the situation worsened after the late Friday night match concluded, with players from both sides engaging in heated confrontations. Actress Raj Ripa claimed that Mostafa Kamal Raz and actor Sariful Razz had physically assaulted her after the match.

The injured players were subsequently admitted to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation in the capital city, underscoring the seriousness of the clashes.

Joy Chowdhury, a member of Dipankar Dipon's team, revealed that Raz had also issued threats against actor Manoj Pramanik.

Dipankar Dipon and the event organizers have indicated that they will release an official statement addressing these issues soon. However, Mostafa Kamal Raz and his team members left the venue without providing any comments on the accusations.

In the actual game, Mostafa Kamal Raz's team won the toss and posted a respectable total of 119 runs in six overs. Despite a valiant effort, Dipankar Dipon's team fell short, scoring 112 runs within the allotted six overs, resulting in a 7-run loss.

The 'Celebrity Cricket League,' which showcases stars from Bangladesh's entertainment industry, started on September 28 and will conclude today. This unique event, held at the Mirpur Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium, featured male and female stars divided into eight teams, with notable figures like Giasuddin Selim, Salahuddin Lavlu, Chayanika Chowdhury, Shihab Shaheen, and others leading these teams.

While the league's mission was to garner support for the Bangladesh cricket team in the World Cup, it has encountered unexpected challenges in the form of on-field altercations and allegations. Despite its aim to unite celebrities in support of the national team, the event has witnessed unforeseen drama both on and off the cricket pitch.
