Ahmed Rubel was on his way to Star Cineplex at Basundhara City Shopping Complex in Dhaka, where the premiere show of his movie "Peyarar Subash" was scheduled in the evening.

Ahmed Rubel was driving himself. On the way, he picked up Nurul Alam Atiq, the producer of "Peyarar Subash," along with an assistant director. They reached Basundhara City around five in the evening. After parking the car, they headed towards the basement of Basundhara City Shopping Complex. Ahmed Rubel was walking straight ahead on the basement walkway when suddenly he stumbled and hit his head. Atiq, along with security guard Masadul Haq and a few others who were nearby, rushed to assist him.

Masadul Haq, speaking in the first light, said, "We thought he had hit his head, so we were giving him water. At that time, he was conscious. He kept lifting his hand repeatedly."

It was necessary to take Ahmed Rubel to an emergency primary healthcare center on Basundhara City's first floor. Atiq explained that there was a delay in bringing a wheelchair from the upper floor to take Rubel downstairs. So, Masadul and Atiq carried Rubel to the healthcare center.

According to Masadul, Rubel was conscious at that time. At the primary healthcare center, the attending physician advised to take Rubel to the hospital on an emergency basis. Rubel was brought down from the first floor of Basundhara City in a wheelchair and then taken to the hospital in a CNG-run autorickshaw. Atiq was also with him in the autorickshaw. Rubel was taken to the emergency department of Square Hospital.

A doctor at the hospital, on the condition of anonymity, stated that they did not detect any pulse. After examination, they were sure that Rubel was brought to the hospital in a dead state. At 5:58 PM, he was pronounced dead.

Rubel passed away while being taken from Basundhara City to the hospital. Doctors have not yet been able to determine the cause of his death. However, they suspect that he suffered a heart attack.

Ahmed Rubel's body was still in the emergency department of the hospital. His family members, including his sister and relatives, were overwhelmed with grief. Rubel's father, Ayesha Uddin, has not been informed of the news yet.

How Rubel's 81-year-old father will cope with the loss of his son remains uncertain. Ayesh Uddin remains at the family's home in Chayabithi, Gazipur. Rubel had left for the event from his father's house.

One of Rubel's brothers had passed away from a heart attack. Ahmed Rubel himself has now passed away. Among his four sisters, two live in Dhaka, and two reside in the United States. Ahmed Rubel's wife's name is Monowara Begum. Rubel and Monowara had no children.

Director Atiq said, "He (Rubel) will leave like this, unable to think." As he said these words, tears welled up in his eyes.

Rubel's sudden death has left his longtime colleagues distraught. His colleagues crowded the hospital to see him for the last time. Producer Prasun Rahman, Matia Banu Shuku, actress Zakia Bari Momo, and many others came to the hospital.
