HC Orders Model Mou To Surrender

Model Mariam Akhter Mou has been ordered by the High Court to appear before the lower court in connection to a case involving drugs and blackmailing. The High Court delivered this directive on Wednesday, February 28. Before this, Mou had faced a drug-related case at Mohammadpur police station in the capital city.

According to the case's details, a police raid was conducted on August 1, 2021, at Mariam Akhter Mou's residence on Babar Road in Mohammadpur. During this operation, various drugs, including alcohol and yaba, were seized.

At the time of the raid, the police revealed that although Mou portrayed herself as a model, she was actually engaged in "fraudulent" activities. She would establish relationships with young men from affluent backgrounds and invite them over to her house under the guise of hosting parties. During these gatherings, Mou would consume various types of drugs, including alcohol, and take "offensive" photographs.

Subsequently, she would use these photographs to extort money or favors from her victims. Following her arrest, Mou was remanded and interrogated on three occasions.

On September 22 of the same year, a High Court bench comprising Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice KM Zahid Sarwar Kajol granted Mou one-year interim bail.
