Amjad Hossain's Sons To Appear Together In Upcoming TV Series 'Boka Prem'

Amjad Hossain, a prominent figure in Bangladeshi cinema, was a filmmaker, producer, writer, actor, lyricist, and litterateur. He made his mark in Bengali cinema with the film "Tomar Amar" in 1961. Then, in 1967, he directed the film "Agun Niye Khela." Afterwards, he excelled primarily in storytelling. Over his illustrious career, he won the National Film Award 12 times and the Bachsas Award 6 times.

His talented sons, Shazzad Hossain Dodul and Sohel Arman are deeply involved in the cultural arena. Following in their father's footsteps, they have entered the media industry. Both are equally busy with directing. They have carved their path through their own productions. Alongside production, they have also ventured into acting. After a hiatus of 15 years, Shazzad Hossain Dodul returned to acting, writing, and producing through the TV series "Musa" in 2022. However, he hasn't been seen acting since then.

On the other hand, Sohel Arman has been working in showbiz for nearly three decades. He is a playwright, actor, lyricist, and director. While most of his work has been behind the scenes, he gained recognition in front of the camera through acting as well. Although he didn't act for more than 15 years, he returned to acting eventually.

For the first time, brothers Dodul and Arman are acting together in the television series "Boka Prem," produced by Boishakhi TV. Alongside acting, Dodul is also directing the comedy-drama. It's the first time Arman is working under his elder brother's direction.

Dodul mentioned that every character in the series is humorous, although the storyline carries messages. Humor is essential to reach the audience, as serious stories often fail to resonate. The audience seeks entertainment during leisure time, hence the selection of a comedy storyline.

Arman expressed his gratitude towards his elder brother for encouraging him to return to acting. He feels the pressure to perform due to his brother's influence and their father's legacy. He sees his father through his brother's eyes and is returning to acting out of love for his family and passion for the craft. He hopes the audience will enjoy the series.

Apart from Dodul and Arman, "Boka Prem" features performances from Akhomo Hasan, Farzana Chobi, Shamima Nazneen, Abu Hurayra Tanvir, Sabbir Ahmed, Allen Shubhro, Imtiaz Rashid, Emu Sikder, Labonno Liza, Siam Mridha, Bitlu Shamim, Samia Akhter, and Kazi Mithila.

The shooting for the series commenced on Sunday (March 24). It will continue with scene-by-scene filming. Once the Eid festivities conclude, the series will be broadcasted on Boishakhi TV from Tuesday to Thursday starting from Pohela Boishakh (14 April). The producers have assured that the series will be produced as long as the audience demands it.
