The Filmfare Awards, renowned for its recognition of excellence in Indian cinema, extends its prestige to Tollywood with the 'Filmfare Awards Bangla'. Recently, the nominations for this year's edition were unveiled, featuring five luminaries from Bangladesh, notably including actress Jaya Ahsan, who has clinched nominations in two distinct categories.

Jaya Ahsan's prominence in the Tollywood scene has been steadily rising, marked by her double nominations this year. Her portrayal in Srijit Mukhopadhyay's "Dasham Abatar" earned her a nod for Best Actress in a Lead Role, while her performance in Kaushik Ganguly's "Ardhangini" secured her a spot in the Best Supporting Actress category. Remarkably, this marks her sixth consecutive nomination, showcasing her enduring impact on the industry.

Jaya embarked on her journey in Kolkata cinema back in 2013 with the film "Arindam Sheel", followed by her Tollywood debut in "Awart". Her early roles garnered acclaim, leading to her nomination for Best Newcomer at the 2014 Filmfare Awards Bangla, though she narrowly missed out on the award.

Hailing from Dhaka, Jaya's trajectory in Tollywood has been illustrious, consistently earning multiple nominations since 2017. Notably, she secured the Best Actress award in three successive seasons, with her prowess recognized both by critics and audiences alike.

In addition to her accolades at Filmfare, Jaya has also been honored with various awards in Kolkata cinema, including a Zee Cine Award, three Tele Cine Awards, two Bengal Film Journalists Association Awards, and the ABP Anand Best Bengali Award, further solidifying her status as a luminary in the industry.
