PBI Finds Truth of Allegations Against Pori Moni

The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has submitted an investigation report to the court against actress Pori Moni and her costume designer Junaid Boghdadi Jimmy for beating and attempted murder. The plaintiff in this case is businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud.

Recently, this report has been submitted to the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Dhaka. Police and court-related sources state that the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has found evidence of assaulting businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud against costume designer Junaid Boghdadi Jimmy. On the other hand, the investigation agency PBI found the fact that Nasir Uddin Mahmud was injured by the liquor glass thrown by Pori Moni. 

Kudrat-e-Khoda, the superintendent of police of PBI in Dhaka, has confirmed this to the media.

However, Pori Moni's lawyer Nilanjana Rifat said that the day for submitting the investigation report against Pori Moni was supposed to be today, Thursday. She has no information about whether the PBI has submitted an investigation report.

According to Pori Moni's lawyer, trial has started in the attempted rape case against Nasir Uddin Mahmud and others. The case filed by Pori Moni is at the stage of taking evidence. Pori Moni is completely innocent.

The businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud filed a case of harassment and attempted murder against Pori Moni and her associates on July 18, 2022, in Dhaka court. In the case, he alleged that on June 8, 2021, Pori Moni and her associates entered the Savar Boat Club and used the washroom. Later, they sat inside the club and drank alcohol. When leaving the club around 1:15 am, Pori Moni called him and pressured him to give a bottle of Blue Label alcohol for free. When he refused, Pori Moni verbally abused him. At one point, Pori Moni threw a glass at him, hitting his head and chest, according to Nasir Uddin Mahmud's complaint.

On June 8, 2021, actress Parimani filed a case against six people including businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud at Savar police station, alleging rape and attempted murder at the Dhaka Boat Club in Savar.

After investigation, the police filed a complaint in court against three including Nasir on September 6, 2022. In that case, Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-9 formed charges against the three accused on May 18, 2022. Pori Moni's testimony is ongoing in that case.

In the case filed by Pori Moni, she alleged that on the night of June 8, she was taken to Dhaka Boat Club by an acquaintance named Tuhin. There, Nasir forcefully tried to make her drink alcohol. At one point, she was subjected to rape and harassment and attempted murder.

After about three months of investigation, Nasir and Tuhin were arrested in the case filed by Pori Moni. Later, they were granted bail. Meanwhile, another trial is underway against three including actress Pori Moni under the Narcotics Control Act in Dhaka Special Judge's Court-10. The case is at the stage of testimony.
