Sinopharm Vaccine May Arrive Next Week

The first commercial consignment of Coronavirus vaccine from China Sinopharm may arrive next week, said the director-general (Health) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Professor Dr Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam.

Monday (June 28) at noon, while talking to the media, Khurshid Alam said the first consignment of the purchased Sinopharm's Coronavirus vaccine could arrive early next month.

So far, 1.1 million Chinese gifts have arrived in the country in two stages. Of this, 30,000 doses have been given to Chinese nationals working in Bangladesh. The remaining 10 lakh 70 thousand dose vaccines are being given to 5 lakh 35 thousand people in the country. In addition to the Chinese gift, one hundred and eight thousand doses of Pfizer vaccine have also arrived in the country from the global vaccine distribution company Covax. On the other hand, it is also known that Covax will give one crore dose of vaccine to Bangladesh.
