Sinophorm-Pfizer vaccination program is being launched across the country from Thursday (July 1) to prevent coronavirus infection.
Shamsul Haque,
director of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) and member secretary of
the National Covid-19 vaccine plan, said this in a health bulletin organized by
the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday (June 30).
He said along
with all medical college hospitals, all district hospitals across the country;
vaccination will be held at Sadar Hospital or 250-bed hospital, Bangladesh
Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) in Chittagong and Syedpur
Sadar Hospital every day from 8 am to 3 pm.
Shamshul Haque
further said that our immunization program was going on in 48 centers inside Dhaka
city, at the moment we will start the immunization program in the remaining 40
centers at the same time and in the same manner as before. Those who have not
been able to register and get vaccinated at these centers can now get
vaccinated.
The EPI director
said registration is being introduced from today for those on the priority
list. Our coronary immunization center is outside the scope of the lockdown. If
someone has a vaccine card, they can go to the center by showing it. In
countries where the Sinopharm vaccine is accepted, our expatriate workers can
go to the center and get the vaccine. Vaccination can also be done outside
Dhaka. However, vaccination cannot be taken without registration.
