Pabna General Hospital has installed a mini central oxygen supply for the patients of Covid-19 Ward.
The oxygen plant was inaugurated at noon on Monday (July 5) by Pabna Sadar-5 MP Golam Faruk Khandakar Prince.
Acting Assistant Director of Pabna General Hospital Dr Saleh
Muhammad Ali, doctors and administrative officers of different departments were
present at the occasion.
Regarding the inauguration of Central Oxygen, Dr. Saleh
Muhammad Ali said that the work of supplying Central Oxygen to the 250-bed
Government General Hospital in Pabna has been going on for a long time. Last
month, work on an oxygen connection pipeline next to each ward bed was
completed. Recently a mini oxygen plant is nearing completion. But the process
by which oxygen will be introduced to this plant has not yet taken place.
However, there is currently an oxygen crisis in the hospital due to the rise of
coronavirus transmission. So with that plant, we have 12 big cylinders installed
and 24 hours oxygen supply is being arranged for the patients of Covid-19 Ward.
However, the doctor claimed that no patient had died due to
the oxygen crisis so far, adding that the three patients who died of coronavirus
symptoms on Sunday and Monday were all serious patients. Even if such patients
are taken to the ICU, their chances of survival are very low. However, we are
still trying to give the right service to the patient in the hospital.
