Registration has started through the 'Surokkha' and 'Ami
Probashi' apps to vaccinate migrant workers.
On Monday (July 5), Expatriate Welfare and Overseas
Employment Minister Imran Ahmed inaugurated the registration of the two apps at
a virtual event.
From now on, expatriate workers who have registered with the
Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) will be able to register for
the vaccine. After the registration is completed, an SMS will be sent to the mobile
one day before the vaccination.
Initially among those from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait who have
completed the registration through the special app; they will be vaccinated
with Pfizer shots at seven centers in their capital. A total of 1400 expatriates
will be vaccinated with Pfizer at seven centers every day.
Expatriate Welfare Minister Imran Ahmed said, "The
special registration that we have introduced, the complications that have been
created with the expatriate vaccine will not be there in the next one
week."
